Visitor from Ireland Damien Brennan

Thursday, February 20 at 4:30 pm

The spirit of Ireland is visiting the Dennis Public Library in the form of Damien Brennan. If you have ever hankered after Ireland, thought about taking a trip there, or wanted to find your family's roots…come and hear Damien and be persuaded.

Damien Brennan has a lifetime of experience in Irish tourism and hospitality. He left Tourism Ireland/Failte Ireland, the national tourist agencies, in the spring of 2012 after twenty years in the role of Marketing and Development Manager for eleven of the Republic’s twenty-six counties. Throughout his personal life he has nurtured a deep interest in Irish culture, history and society, having a particular interest in the places associated with Irish writers.

He is about to take up the presidency of the International WB Yeats Society based in Sligo, Ireland, where he has his home. He will talk to Cape Cod audiences about the attractions of Ireland, the compelling reasons to take a trip there and especially why you might visit the Wild Atlantic Way…that’s to say the western seaboard of Ireland that is truly packed with beauty, history, and poetry, and remains inhabited by the most welcoming people in the world!

He will be accompanied by Chatham couple Daniel Burt and Debby Felder who run the boutique Unique Irish Tours. See www.uniqueirishtours.com for their details and www.YeatsSligoIreland.com for a short video highlighting Damien on screen!
