In a perfect ending to our celebration of Archaeology Month and the pirate ship Whydah, the author arrives to discuss her new work, Bellamy's Bride: The Search for Maria Hallett of Cape Cod. Legend has it that pirate "Black Sam" Bellamy was aboard the Whydah and hoping to return to his Cape Cod love Maria Hallett when the ship was lost in a storm off the coast of Wellfleet. Ms. Brunelle carefully picks up the threads of legend and lore and searches to find the historical truth behind the stories of Maria Hallett. Did Maria really exist? She traces the real people and considers the possibilities. Books will be available for sale and signing.

Author's Friday - Casey Sherman

An award winning journalist, Casey Sherman gained international headlines with his re-investigation of the notorious Boston Strangler case. He later chonicled it in his true crime bestseller A Rose for Mary. He landed back on the bestseller list in 2009 with his sea epic The Finest Hours, co-authored with Michael Tougias. The story tells of two oil tankers which split in two during a howling storm, and the valiant attempt to rescue the men inside the broken halves of the two ships.

Author Dan Gordon - rescheduled event

One of our favorite local authors joins us to continue our celebration of Archaeology Month and the pirate ship Whydah. Ms. Moisan conducted extensive research at The Whydah Museum in Provincetown, as well as other places around the Cape. Her work weaves together both historical facts and local lore. Learn the secrets of the author's research and learn more about the continuation of the story, as she's already hard at work on her next novel! Books will be available for sale and signing.
