Mayflower Mouse

Come CELEBRATE the

400th Anniversary of the First Thanksgiving!

Local award-winning author and educator, Marian "Hannah" Carlson will be at Dennis Public Library.

Saturday, November 6th

11am-12pm

Enjoy the true tale of the Pilgrims' adventures in 1620-1621 based on Governor William Bradford's Journal and told by the famous Mayflower Mouse.

Meet some of the characters from the story in costume, examine primary documents, listen to colonial music, and read aloud from Carlson's book, "The Adventures of Plimoth Plantation As Told by the Mayflower Mouse."

This program delights young and old with a fanciful, yet full-of-facts account of the Mayflower journey, the settlement of Plymouth, and the first Thanksgiving.

Storywalk® at Old Fort Field

StoryWalk® at Old Fort Field

Dennis Public Library recently collaborated with the Dennis Conservation Land Trust to present Full of Fall, a StoryWalk®.

Full of Fall

With gorgeous photo illustrations, award-winning author April Pulley Sayre explores the transformation trees undergo in fall. The book takes readers through the leaves’ initial change from green to red, yellow, and orange, the shedding of the leaves, and the leaves crumbling as winter approaches. Extensive back matter explains the science behind this process to the youngest of budding scientists.

This book is suitable for all ages. The StoryWalk® will be exhibited for a month, until November 15th, along the trail at Old Fort Field (105 New Boston Rd., Dennis).

We love working with our community partners and hope you enjoy this great story while exploring the great outdoors!

A Navigator is available on Tuesdays from 2-4 p.m. Participants can enter the meeting room from the lobby at the Edwards Avenue side entry doors. We are pleased to offer this important service, contributing to the good health of our community.
