Family Concert with Jay Mankita

Saturday, April 6 at 11:00 am

Get ready to sing and clap to Jay Mankita's guitar! Jay will treat our audience to interactive songs. He is a masterful guitar player who also accompanies himself with a foot-driven, floor based percussion rig, built from found objects, broken down music gear, and recycled materials. The Massachusetts-based songwriter is a Parents' Choice Award winner for his album "Eat Like A Rainbow." The title song from that CD appears on the Putumayo label's Picnic Playground collection and has been heard in over 100 countries around the world. His "Junk Food Man" is on the Grammy-nominated album, "Healthy Food For Thought." Dozens of artists have performed and recorded his songs, and he himself has performed in over 1500 schools and libraries over 30 years. For more information about this upcoming show, or about the man and his music, visit http://jaymankita.com

This program is supported by a grant from the Dennis Arts and Culture Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
