"The Osprey Project"

The majestic osprey is one of the largest birds of prey in North America. Although their numbers dwindled in Massachusetts during the 1970s, the Cape’s population is now growing. Naturalist Dennis Murley talks about a monitoring project being developed by the Mass Audubon Society’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. Would you like to help observe ospreys on the mid and lower Cape? Whether you want to volunteer, or simply learn more about these big, beautiful birds, come and join us!

Dennis Public Library presents “The Country Teacher,” the story of young science teacher on assignment who meets a woman and her troubled 17-year old son. He befriends the woman, but has no romantic interest in her. No one in the village knows that the teacher is gay and harbors secret feelings towards the teenage son. His jealous actions test the inner strength and compassion of all three to the breaking point. Beautifully shot and powerfully acted, this film is a moving story of desire, responsibility, forgiveness, and the need to belong.

Author’s Friday Series

Award-winning author and journalist Nancy Rubin Stuart delights our audience with tales of her experiences. Her latest biography entitled, “The Muse of the Revolution: The Secret Pen of Mercy Otis Warren and the Founding of a Nation,” features a nearly forgotten Founding Mother who wrote about the American Revolution from her own experience and those of her friends. Among them were patriots John and Abigail Adams, Sam Adams, Martha and George Washington, Henry Know, and Elbridge Gerry. Come and listen in! Registration is recommended for this highly popular event.
