Fridays starting September 30th from 10:00-12:00

Everyone has a story to tell. With the Internet, Kindles, and Nooks, self-publishing your writing is easy. Everyone can read and buy your stories and books globally. The new digital age makes the process easier than you think.

Starting on Friday, September 30th S.D. Anderson, PhD, Indie author and publisher, will lead a weekly writers’ group. You will learn how to write and publish your own work and have fun doing it. The group is currently full. Please call the library to be added to the wait list: 508-760-6219.

S.D. Anderson has been self-publishing for more than 30 years in the Visionary Fiction genre. All of her books, fiction and non-fiction, websites, and blogs maintain a spiritual and mystical element merging Easter and Western philosophies. Living on her magical Cape Cod, she actively participates in a weekly writers’ group through Cape Cod Writers Center and is a member of the Visionary Fiction Alliance.

Coloring for the Soul displays at Dennis Public Library

Local artist Avis Kaeselau and participants from her Coloring for the Soul group will be displaying their beautiful work in the Dennis Public library meeting room gallery for the month of September. A Provincetown native, Avis comes from a family of well-known artists and artisans, which has carried on to her children and theirs through their professional art and music.

Avis has taught at the Cultural Center in Yarmouth, the Creative Arts Center in Chatham, at libraries, senior centers, and privately. Many of her participants have had difficult physical challenges, but inspiring them to color, has taken them to new places, from frustration to fantastic! There is no right or wrong when coloring, no limits, no restrictions because it comes from deep within your soul, setting your focus intensely on which color you should use and not on all your stresses and problems. The act of coloring is both meditative and therapeutic.

New Computers are Coming!

Thanks to a generous contribution by the Friends of the Dennis Public Library, we will soon have new Windows 10 computers to offer for public use.
