Songbirds of the Northeast

This presentation by naturalist John Root features amazing photographs and recordings of our native and introduced songbirds. The audience will learn how to recognize these birds by their songs and calls and discover the roles of these entrancing vocalizations. Habitats, migration, diets, life cycles, and survivals strategies will also be discussed. Audience members will leave with information about bird clubs and nature centers; lists of recommended books and websites; and instructions on how to attract songbirds.

Author's Friday - Ann Hood

Best-selling author Ann Hood unveils her just-released novel The Red Thread. The story is based on her own experience adopting a baby girl from China and follows five couples as they endure the adoption ordeal in the United States and China.

Ann's other works include The Knitting Circle, Comfort, and Do Not Go Gentle.

New local author Elizabeth Moisan

Meet debut author Elizabeth Moisan. Her recent work of historical fiction is entitled Master of the Sweet Trade: A Story of the Pirate Samuel Bellamy, Mariah Hallet, and the Whydah. It follows swashbuckling pirate Sam Bellamy, as his simple quest to provide for his Cape Cod love Mariah Hallet turns into an insatiable lust for gold.

Hearing Loss Association presents "Understanding Our Local Wildlife"

The Hearing Loss Association of America, Cape Cod Chapter, presents "Understanding Our Local Wildlife" by Wellfleet Bay Audubon Sanctuary Director Bob Prescott. Mr. Prescott talks about the current research going on at Wellfleet Bay. Our audience will get a behind-the-scenes look at long-term projects that feature piping plovers, diamond terrapins, horseshoe crabs, and the Wellfleet oyster.
