Bats: Those Fantastic, Furry, Flexible Fliers

Wednesday, August 11 at 7:00 pm

Irwin Schorr, an experienced naturalist and raconteur, introduces our audience to bats. With a touch of humor, he explores the myths of vampire bats and common phrases like blind as a bat. He'll review local bats as well as examples from all over the world. The audience will leave with an understanding of the importance and fragility of these creatures, which are the only true flying mammals.

Irwin Schorr is a self-taught, versatile naturalist whose career in the pharmaceutical industry led him to the study of the chemical, medicinal, and industrial uses of plants and their vital interactions with animals and humans.
