Saturday, May 11th at noon

Singer-guitarist and music teacher Ron Williams will be at the library for an afternoon concert, accompanied by several of his students.

Ron's approach to guitar playing is called Finger-Style Jazz Guitar in which many elements of Classical Guitar are applied to jazz and popular compositions. He performs a variety of Easy-Listening Favorites, which includes familiar instrumentals by Dave Brubeck, Oscar Hammerstein, Guisseppe Verdi, J.S. Bach and others. He also sings the "Great American Songs" of the 1930s to the present by composers such as Johnny Mercer, Cole Porter, Duke Ellington and Hoagy Carmichael.

A Cape resident, Mr. Williams is a graduate of Duke University where he studied vocal performance and zoology. He teaches music performance and chorus for Project Forward at Cape Cod Community College and leads a weekly group voice workshop at The Cotuit Center for the Arts. Ron currently lives in Chatham were he teaches private lessons in guitar and voice. Whenever possible, Ron invites local music students to join him in performances.

We hope you can join us for a fun, musical program. Free and open to the public. No registration required.
