Coloring for the Soul displays at Dennis Public Library

Local artist Avis Kaeselau and participants from her Coloring for the Soul group will be displaying their beautiful work in the Dennis Public library meeting room gallery for the month of September. A Provincetown native, Avis comes from a family of well-known artists and artisans, which has carried on to her children and theirs through their professional art and music.

Avis has taught at the Cultural Center in Yarmouth, the Creative Arts Center in Chatham, at libraries, senior centers, and privately. Many of her participants have had difficult physical challenges, but inspiring them to color, has taken them to new places, from frustration to fantastic! There is no right or wrong when coloring, no limits, no restrictions because it comes from deep within your soul, setting your focus intensely on which color you should use and not on all your stresses and problems. The act of coloring is both meditative and therapeutic.
