In the last few years Martha Lang has self-published many different genres of books, including children’s picture books, children's chapter books, a poetry book, a cookbook, short novels, and a memoir. Martha decided to self-publish for a number of reasons. The most difficult part was finding a publisher whose prices she could afford and who had of setup that interested her. Her presentation includes advice for potential self-publishers, such as: don't give away rights to your book. Bring all of your questions, and Martha will be pleased to lead a very interactive discussion with the audience.
Martha spends her summers in Dennis Village. In the winter she teaches at the University of Vermont, where she has given courses on creative memoir writing, as well as on writing and illustrating books.
