Library Updates

On February 4, 2020 the Dennis Public Library will reopen to serve patrons. Repairs to areas damaged by water on January 20, 2020 have been completed. The Children’s Room and the Benjamin and Ruth Muse Meeting Room sustained damage in an earlier event on November 8, 2019, and will remain closed until carpet is delivered later this month.

The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Program that is normally offered at this time of year in the Meeting Room has been relocated to the Dennis Union Church at 713 Main Street (Route 6A), Dennis, MA, through the month of February. Please call Susan Reilly at the Dennis Senior Center to arrange an appointment for tax preparation assistance: 508-385-5067. Voting on March 3, 2020, for Precinct #3 will still take place at Dennis Public Library.

The Dennis Public Library wishes to thank all of those who reached out with good wishes and offers of assistance. Your support is greatly appreciated.

The Night Skies and Astronomy

Wednesday, July 21 at 8:00 pm

Jarvis Hunt, master of Earth Science and Astronomy, presents a slide show that highlights many features of the night sky. Learn about tides and the effects of the moon and the sun on tide levels and tide frequencies. If weather permits, our speaker and audience will venture outside to view the constellations.

Jarvis Hunt is an instructor and program presenter at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History and a former science teacher at an independent school in Massachusetts.
