Virtual event: Significance of Historic Buildings and Landscapes on Cape Cod

Friday, April 9th at 12:30

Presented by Sarah Korgoff of the Cape Cod Commission and the Dennis Conservation Land Trust

On occasion land trusts encounter land projects that include historic buildings, which raise questions about whether to pursue the project, and, if so, what to do with the buildings. Historic buildings can be costly in terms of repairs, upkeep, and liability. At this talk, participants will learn why it is important to consider saving these historic buildings; how to approach building rescue projects; and where the Cape's historic buildings are. They will also learn about successful examples of preservation and conservation; tools and assistance; and things to remember when projects come to land trusts' attention. Enjoy this unique perspective on some historic places of Cape Cod.
