Library Updates

On January 20, 2020 the Dennis Public Library experienced water damage to its Circulation Desk and Back Office areas due to a leaking sprinkler pipe.

The Library will remain closed on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 to allow for clean up and repair of the affected areas. Additional closure time may be necessary to complete work. Stay tuned for further updates.

During this time period, the remaining four Dennis village libraries are fully operational and open to serve patrons. For information on these libraries, locations, and hours, please see the Town of Dennis website for the Departmental listing for Libraries at https://www.town.dennis.ma.us/libraries.

Halloween may be over, but Cape Cod ghosts are just settling in for the winter! Local author Barbara Sillery will introduce our audience to some of the Cape’s most enduring residents.

The fog-shrouded islands of Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Martha’s Vineyard are filled with distinctly New England apparitions steeped in the staunch sea-faring traditions of their earthly home. Barbara states, “they are there whether you believe or not.” Her ghostly guide The Haunting of Cape Cod and the Islands is a tour of more than twenty historical sites along with the stories of their supernatural inhabitants. In each instance, skepticism abounds and the question remains—is there really a ghost?

Barbara Sillery is an award-winning and prolific producer and writer with a penchant for the paranormal. She has written The Haunting of Louisiana and The Haunting of Mississippi. The Haunting of Cape Cod and the Islands will be available for sale and signing.
