The Dennis Public Library is very pleased to welcome Dennisport author and Friend of the Dennis Public Library Paul Kemprecos. The author’s latest mystery novel Grey Lady was released last November. The story takes place mostly on Nantucket and continues the adventures of Aristotle "Soc" Socarides, a Cape Cod-based private detective. “Soc” has legions of fans who requested the return of their favorite protagonist. Kemprecos happily obliged. He partnered with Suspense Publishing to bring out the Soc series in digital and print formats.

Paul Kemprecos’ first book in the “Soc” series, Cool Blue Tomb, received the Shamus award for best original paperback from the Private Eye Writers of America. He also collaborated with Clive Cussler, the "master of adventure," in creating and writing eight novels in the best-selling NUMA Files series. When that collaboration ended, Kemprecos wrote an adventure novel on his own, The Emerald Scepter, whose protagonist Matt Hawkins is a former Navy SEAL living in Woods Hole. He is at work on a sequel to the first Hawkins book.

Kemprecos is a board member and former president of the Friends of the Dennis Public Library. His wife Christi was on the architectural committee that designed the library.
